Although you (reportedly) don’t like yourself, you actually like the people like you. You trust, know, like, and do business with people like you. Dare to contradict? Think about it. It’s quite normal, and instinctive. You go where things are familiar, you trust what you know, you affiliate to whom you can trust. No simpler than that. Substitute know, trust, and love, with like, an here you are! Not so simple anymore. While you may like yourself, I cannot trust me. While I know me, I cannot (possible) like me. And so on.
What if you stop? And accept: “I Like People Like Me”. “I trust (people like) me.” “I know (people like) me”. “I love (people like) me”.
Better, huh?
“Like” is an interesting word. It may be used to compare us to others – and others to others – as well as describing a state of mind – an emotion, actually – where we enjoy something – or someone. It may be easily substituted, and even easier overlooked. Pay attention to who You Are.
