Protection stands up for fear.
It is “supposed” to protect you from “others”.
It is merely a construction that is seeking your attention. From love, happiness, meaning, transformation.
Protecting your client from their fears – not letting them feel their fears
Protecting your child from “dangers” – not letting them having the experience you believe it’s dangerous
Protecting your spouse from sorrows – not letting them deal with their own terrors
is actually
Protecting YOU from your own fears.
There is no such thing as protection, and protecting FROM FEAR build the exact momentum you are so focused on avoiding. Protecting from fear gives the other party – including you if you are protecting yourself consciously – the ILLUSION of power. They – including you – feel strong to act as if they are invincible, the launch in battle, they drown in their own adrenaline flush, which is only a flush, nothing sustainable.
To be “invincible” – “unshakable” – means to know one’s power. To “have fought the battles” and discovered your own ways to “win”. To integrate those “battles”. To make the fire your friend – your own way. Then comes the trust. The solitude. The knowing. The wisdom. Like ladders up, “victory” is made of stairs – one stair at a time, your own time, your own stairs.
EMBRACE YOUR FEARS: they will disappear, and the “others” will have their way too.
Before turning to the other – before saying “don’t”, showing “compassion”, taking their hand – give that moment to yourself. Take in the fear, and let the others do their thing. In a loving, trustworthy, comforting atmosphere.
Protection is NOT love, it is fear.
